Based on the results of multiple analyses and interpretation of the archaeological record, 3D reconstructions of the explored workshops from the Virje – Volarski breg (8th/9th c.) and Hlebine – Velike Hlebine (7th c.) sites were made.
September - December 2020
3D models of waste (slag) were made by digital photogrammetry. These are rare, complete finds of smelting slag in situ belonging to individual smelting furnaces from the Virje – Volarski breg, Virje – Sušine and Hlebine – Velike Hlebine sites. Due to fragmentation, individual fragments were recorded separately and merged into a complete model in photogrammetric software. Relevant 2D cross-sections, outlines etc. were extracted from the 3D model as part of the basic archaeological documentation and analysis of finds.
