An online lecture was held for the students of the Department of Geology and Palaeontology of the University of Szeged entitled Men and environment in the Danube valley and its tributaries, which partly included the results of the TransFER project. The lecture was held as a part of the EFOP-3.4.3-16-2016-00014 project of the European Social Fund implemented at the University of Szeged and funded by the European Union (Katarina Botić).

A Round Table, organized by the Town museum Koprivnica, the Historical Society of Koprivnica and the Institute of Archaeology, was held in Koprivnica with the topic of the latest archaeological research in Koprivnica-Križevci County. Two lectures promoting work of the TransFER project were held: “What is hidden under the elevation at Hrastova greda in Kalinovac?” (Tajana Sekelj Ivančan) (pdf) and “An experimental approach to the study of iron production in the Podravina region” (Tena Karavidović) (pdf).

The 2nd Round Table of the scientific interdisciplinary research project TransFER was held at the Library of the Institute of Archaeology, at which the results of the project's second year were presented. At the Serbian Archaeological Society invitation a lecture entitled Mineralogical-geochemical connection between the wetland type of iron deposits (Bog iron) and the antique and medieval slag in the lowland Drava river basin was held at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Mining and Geology (Department of Mineralogy, Crystallography, Petrology and Geochemistry) (Tomislav Brenko) (PDF).

A public presentation of the scientific interdisciplinary research project TransFER was held, funded by the Croatian Science Foundation and carried out within the Institute of Archeology from the 1st of March 2017, for a period of four years. Project was presented by Dr Tajana Sekelj Ivančan, leader of the project (Institute of Archeology, Zagreb) (pdf) and the researchers-project members: Dr Branko Mušič, assistant professor (Department of Archaeology, University of Ljubljana) (pdf), Dr Sibila Borojević Šoštarić, associate professor (Faculty of Mining, Geology and Petroleum Engineering, University of Zagreb) (pdf) and Robert Čimin (Municipal Museum of Koprivnica) (pdf)

The 1st work meeting of the project research team was held (Tajana Sekelj Ivančan, Tatjana Tkalčec, Siniša Krznar, Ladislav Lazić, Robert Čimin, Aleksandra Bugar, Branko Mušič, Sibila Borojević Šoštarić, Stanko Ružičić, Metka Culiberg, Ivan Valent) at the Institute of Archaeology’s library facility. The project’s research team is composed of several archeologists from the scientific and museum institutions of the Republic of Croatia and colleagues from the technical and natural sciences, so the meeting also served for the mutual acquaintance of the members of the team. The planned work in the first year of the project was briefly presented and the rhythm of the work of individual groups of the research team was outlined.
