 Participation in gathering data from non-destructive investigative methods that include field survey and reconnaissance of the area along the Drava River, along with analysis of the aerial photographs of a chosen area and their further interpretation in the context of metallurgical activity. Participation in targeted archaeological excavations on chosen micro-sites in order to establish the relations between the workshop and the settlement. After excavation – the analysis, interpretation, and publication of archaeological finds from medieval archaeological assemblages. Defining the impact and distribution of goods, as well as semi-finished and finished products, in the context of a narrower, regional and wider, Central European context in the Middle Ages. Co-organization of a scientific conference. Time dedicated to the project: 30% working time.

 

Curriculum vitae

 

Tatjana Tkalčec was born on the 14th January 1972 in Bjelovar, Croatia. She obtained her MSc degree in Archaeology in 2004, and a PhD in Archaeology in 2008. Since 2000 she has been employed at the Institute of Archaeology in Zagreb, first as an associate – documentary researcher, then as junior researcher and from 2010 as a research associate. In 2013, she acquired the scientific title of senior research associate.

 T. Tkalčec has lengthy experience in mediaeval archaeology, as a researcher and as the director of many archaeological excavation projects. Since 2008, she has held consultations and classes with postgraduate doctoral students of archaeology oatf the University of Zagreb, and since 2009 she teaches the course ''The Archaeology of the Late Middle Ages'', in the graduate programme of archaeology in the Faculty of Humantities of the University of Zagreb.

  T. Tkalčec has participated in the popularization of archaeological science with many articles, several public lectures, and as co-author and associate in four museum exhibitions.

  So far, T. Tkalčec has published: 1 academic book, 18 original scientific papers, 3 preliminary communications, 2 review articles, 10 book chapters, 79 professional papers, and 58 archaeological professional reports. She has presented 20 papers at national and international scientific meetings.
