Ladislav Lazić

Consultant on the technological working of iron and the process of smelting.

Display of the original appearance and construction of furnaces for smelting iron ores that were built and were in function for producing iron during the Antiquity and the Middle Ages at two sites in the Drava River valley. The technology of processing iron ore depended on the type of furnace, and he will serve as a consultant in determining the technological process of smelting the iron ore in the discovered furnaces with the aim of determining technological similarities and differences in the smelting process throughout time, with an attempt made to answer the question of what caused them. He will participate in defining the spatial organization of the furnaces and other component parts of the workshops, as well as in considering whether the arrangement of structures concurs with the technological process, did changes occur in the spatial organization through time, and (if present) did they depend on changes to the technological process. Time dedicated to the project: 10% working time.
