Geochemical prospecting. Chemical and multielemental soil analysis. Multielemental analysis of slag and iron objects.

Soil sampling at specific locations on the basis of mapping of surface finds of iron oxides through the aid of shallow pedological drilling. The share of iron will be determined on the collected samples through standard chemical analysis, and for samples with elevated concentrations of iron, multielemental analysis will show the composition of microelements and trace elements. The results of analysis of the iron objects will be compared to the results of the soil analysis (iron ore) in order to establish if the objects were made from iron processed in the nearby smelting workshop.

Field and laboratory work.

Time dedicated to the project: 30%.
