Tena Karavidović was born 1985. in Osijek, Croatia. In 2014. She obtained a degree in Archaeology from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb. In 2018. she enrolled in PhD studies in Archaeology on Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb under the mentorship of Tajana Sekelj Ivančan, phd. She has received an Excellency scholarship for postgraduate studies from Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in 2018.
She has been employed at the Institute of archaeology in Zagreb since October 2018. as a research assistant on the project “Production of Iron Along the Drava River During Antiquity and Middle Ages: Creation and Transfer of Knowledge, Technology and Commodities" (IP – 2016 - 06 - 5047) directed by Tajana Sekelj Ivančan, phd.
She has participated in several systematic and protective archaeological excavations and field examinations as a documentarist, headmaster, or deputy head of research. She is an active member of the Center for Experimental Archeology and CIPA Heritage Documentation (ICOMOS / ISPRS Committee for Documentation of Cultural Heritage).
She is the author of scientific and two professional papers, and has presented her work on scientific and professional conferences.
Her research interests include preindustrial iron production technology, landscape archaeology, experimental archaeology.
