Field survey of two potential archeological sites with indicative toponyms in the vicinity of Budvar and Đurđevac (Siniša Krznar) was conducted together with a collaborator on the project from the Koprivnica Museum (Ivan Valent). On the Kopčica site near Đurđevac, surface finds were collected dating from Prehistory to the Middle Ages, including the finds of broken slag which can be associated with iron ore smelting.

During the summer of 2017 the toponyms from cartographic sources were surveyed on the lowlands of the Drava Basin in order to identify potential sites related to iron production or processing (S. Krznar). Based on the conducted analysis, five potential archeological sites where chosen on which field survey was conducted (Siniša Krznar, Ivan Valent, Tajana Sekelj Ivančan).
