Collecting published data about archaeological finds that represent indicators of metallurgical activities in the processing of iron ore and reviewing gathered surface finds from known collections in the Podravina region and from museum collections that cover the region in question (Koprivnica and Đurđevac). Gathering data through non-destructive investigative methods, such as field survey and reconnaissance of the area by the Drava River, analysis of the toponomastic and historical data, and analysis of aerial photographs and their remote interpretation. Participation in field research and preparation of field archaeological documentation. Holding educational lectures and co-organization of a scientific meeting. Time dedicated to the project: 30% working time. 

Curriculum vitae

Siniša Krznar was born on the 29th of March 1977 in Varaždin, Croatia. He lives in Ivanec. He obtained his BA in Archaeology and History at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb in 2001, his MSc in Archaeology at the University of Zagreb in 2007, and his PhD at the same University with the dissertation "The Archaeological Image of Late Medieval Cemeteries in Northern Croatia" in 2012.

 From 2003 to 2007, he was employed as a curator at the Museum of Trakošćan Castle. After that he moved to the Institute of Archaeology, where he still works. From 2007 to 2013 he was a Research Assistant/Postdoctoral Researcher on the scientific project “The Mediaeval Settlements of Northern Croatia in the Light of Archaeological Sources”, led by Dr. Tajana Sekelj Ivančan.

 In 2009, and between 2011 and 2015, he supervised systematic archaeological investigations at the Torčec – Cirkvišče site. His research interests are primarily focused on medieval cemeteries in northern Croatia.

So far, Siniša Krznar has published five original scientific papers, one book, and three book chapters. He has participated at scientific meetings with five presentations. Siniša Krznar is a member of the Croatian Archaeological Society, the Historical Society of the City of Varaždin and Varaždin County, and the Center for Experimental Archaeology. In 2008, he was technical editor of the journal Annales Instituti Archaeologici/Godišnjak Instituta za arheologiju, and from 2011 has been a member of the editorial board of the journal Historia Varasdiensis – časopis za varaždinsku povjesnicu. He was the initiator and member of the organizing committees for the scientific conferences “Mirko Malez 1924 – 1990 – 2010” held in 2010, and "Cemeteries and Funerary Customs in the Medieval and Early Modern Periods in Northern Croatia" held in 2014 and "Medieval Settlements in the light of archaeological research" held in 2015.
